Oophaga histrionica "redhead"
Perhaps one of the most vibrant frogs I've had the pleasure of working with. Oophaga histrionica is endemic to the tropical rainforests in the Chocó region of western Colombia. Aptly named "Oophaga", these frogs are egg eaters, and as tadpoles are fed unfertelized eggs by the mother! These critically endangered frogs have developed bright colors and unique toxins to ward off would-be predators, but unfortunately these same colors make them highly saught after by poachers. This frog was owned by Jack's World of Wildlife, and was part of captive conservation efforts, and legally sourced through Tesoros De Columbia.
